Pulmcast — Your Hub for Critical Care Education in Georgia

At Pulmcast - your hub for critical care education in Georgia - we believe the next generation of advanced practice providers deserves more than just a classroom - they deserve a launchpad. That’s exactly what we offer through Georgia’s largest ICU-focused APP fellowship, based in the heart of Atlanta. Whether you’re a newly graduated NP or PA or a practicing clinician looking to build your skills in intensive care, our program is designed to turn your passion for critical care into real-world expertise.

Since 2016, Pulmcast has brought together a team of dedicated pulmonary and critical care providers working at the largest health system in Georgia. We’re not just educators - we’re boots-on-the-ground clinicians who live and breathe critical care medicine. Through our popular Pulmcast podcast, we’ve built a community of learners from all over the world, sharing practical, evidence-based insights in pulmonary medicine, resuscitation and high-stakes decision making. And that same energy carriers into our Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program.

We’re proud to say that Pulmcast is more than just a podcast or a fellowship. It’s a movement toward better education, better mentorship, and better medicine—especially in the ICU setting. So if you’re searching for a Georgia APP program that prepares you for the real challenges of critical care, or looking for an ICU fellowship for APPs that blends heart and hustle, you’ve found it.

What makes our fellowship different?

So what sets our ICU APP Fellowship in Georgia apart? For starters, it’s not a shadowing experience. It’s an immersive, structured training program that equips nurse practitioners and physician associates (formerly physician assistants) with the tools they need to thrive in the ICU. Fellows train alongside experienced intensivists, critical care APPs, and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. You’ll lead rounds, assist with procedures, learn to manage ventilators and pressors, and make real-time decisions that impact patient outcomes—every single day.

As an APP in Georgia, you’ll also benefit from practicing in a state that supports a broad scope of practice for nurse practitioners and physician associates. Our fellows are empowered to act with autonomy and clinical judgment, while still receiving close mentorship and support. It’s a rare balance—and one that creates confident, capable clinicians by the end of the program.

We cover key topics like sepsis, ARDS, ECMO, advanced airway management, hemodynamics, and more. We teach you how to communicate with families in crisis, navigate ethical dilemmas, and handle high-pressure situations with clarity and compassion.
