Fluid and Electrolytes

In order for the human body to function properly, the electrolytes in your body must be at a very specific level. This is influenced by not only human factors (exogenous administration, nutritional status, etc) but also your body's fluid status. Therefore, fluids and electrolytes are forced to be coupled together with one directly affecting the other. In the ICU we focus on calcium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus, and magnesium.
