Thank you for your interest in pursuing a rotation with Piedmont Pulmonary and Critical Care. The purpose of this form is to ensure you are adequately prepared for a successful rotation with this group. Please answer the below questions to the best of your abilities. We look forward to reading your responses.

During your prospective clinical rotation with Piedmont Pulmonary and Critical Care, there are a number of expectations as outlined below:

3-4 shifts per week with a combination of days/nights
Weekly ICU specific curriculum (located on pulmcast.com)
(1) presentation on a topic of your choice (this would be given during your shift to your preceptor, current residents, and APP/physician staff)
Final evaluation at the end of your rotation

Working and rotating in this specialty involves end-of-life discussions, palliative care, and unfortunately the death of patients. Have you been exposed to these areas of medicine and do you think you could handle them professionally?

Are you interested in our ICU residency program and working in critical care at the completion of your education?

We offer a rigorous 12 month APP Residency Program with the goal of introducing newly graduated APPs to the critical care setting. As a ICU APP resident, you will have the opportunity to prove your abilities in the world of critical care while working alongside some of the most prominent critical care providers in the region. Once you graduate you will officially be part of our group and work alongside our veteran APPs to provide critical care coverage at one of Piedmont’s hospitals.
